Play On Words Child and Family Counselling

Belinda Maher is the director of Play On Words – she is a teacher, mental health social worker and child and family therapist who operates her child and family counselling practice from the Good Health Group Clinic in Brighton East, Melbourne.

Belinda specialises in working with children to improve their social, emotional and mental health, and assisting families to build upon their capacity to provide responsive and sensitive parenting. Belinda works predominately with young people with ASD, ADHD, ID and/or a history of trauma.

In her work, Belinda supports children, adolescents and family systems to overcome a range of emotional, psychological and behavioural issues; her primary therapeutic modalities include Child Centred Play Therapy, trauma-focused CBT, narrative therapy and using art in therapy.

Belinda also offers adolescent and adult trauma counselling.

Belinda is currently accepting new referrals for full-fee and NDIS (self-managed and plan managed) clients. Medicare rebates are also now available with a referral from your GP/paediatrician.
