Hi, my name is Nicola and I am a small business owner. My business, Dynamic Connections, aims to create activities accessible for people with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities.
I have been working in disability since 2015, when I was 14 years of age. I began as a volunteer and doing work experience at a specialist school for primary aged students. I then gained a Australian School Based Apprenticeship and completed my Certificate III in Individual Support – Disability. After this I worked full time at the same school for a year and a half, as well as doing in home supports for people with complex needs. I then wanted to branch out and I gained experience working in mainstream primary schools and specialist primary and high schools, all before working for and becoming a Program Lead, for a support company which provides supports for Complex Behaviours. I then decided to branch out once again and became a Client Liason Officer for a company which provided Supported Independent Living.
This brings us to today, where I have decided to be a support worker once again and start my own business.

The current Dynamic Connections, provides activities designed to increase skills and abilities for young people with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities as well as supporting individuals with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities as well as those with complex needs, in home and in the community as well as therapy support and capacity building.
