Hydrotherapy is physiotherapy in a specialised pool, conducted by trained professionals. It utilises the properties of water such as buoyancy, warmth and resistance to allow either very gentle or quite strenuous exercise.  Muscles are more relaxed and flexible and pain is less, allowing exercises that may not be possible on land to be comfortably performed. You don’t have to be able to swim to participate in hydrotherapy, with the physios in the pool providing assistance and exercise progression as needed.
