Individual Counselling

Individual counselling assists Participants to understand, express and better manage emotions to reduce distress, learn coping skills and develop flexible thinking styles. Konekt can help manage or improve mental health difficulties and quality of life through the provision of a wide range of strategies. It can also help to manage relationships with family and friends, build confidence to socialise more often and work towards their goals, and provide guidance in managing daily tasks and improve quality of life. The service consists of an initial clinical session with the use of scales and we provide an initial report and plan. Konekt then provides the sessions and can provide a counselling summary report with repeated scales at any time, such as when no longer needing this support. A range of Allied Health professionals provide this service either locally in person or via telehealth. Konekt can provide profiles of each professional in your area.

Employment Related Assessment and Counselling

Konekt offer a comprehensive Employment Related Assessment and Report on strengths, interests and career pathway. We provide clinical interview and use assessment scales for health and disability, vocational strengths and challenges (including the WAIS IV intelligence scale if requested) and vocational interests. We also consider Participants goals, disabilities, education and employment, work experience and qualifications. We can recommend career pathways that may be most appealing and appropriate. We can further comment on medical and mental health supports/ accommodations that may be needed in their future role. A report is provided with all information and recommendations. A range of Allied Health professionals provide this service either in person or telehealth. In the event the WAIS intelligence scale is of benefit, a Psychologist would provide the assessment in person.
Following the assessment and report, Konekt can provide employment related counselling sessions. This enables the Participant to work towards their employment goals, improve their motivation, manage their mental health (if needed), and address psychosocial barriers. Konekt are experienced in the provision of support, strategies and interventions to improve wellbeing and work readiness. Employment-related counselling is specifically tailored for participants who want to move towards being ready to step into work or study but require assistance first, career type counselling to explore the identified pathways, or it is the provision of professional support to manage their adjustment to working life. Individual employment support and employment preparation activities can also be provided. A summary report of sessions provided and progress is available. A range of Allied Health professionals provide this service either locally in person or via telehealth. Konekt can provide profiles of each professional in your area.
