Arts therapies are evidence-based mental health supports which use creative processing to improve and enhance a person’s physical, mental and emotional well-being. Research has shown that the processes involved in creative self-expression help people to resolve problems and conflicts, develop interpersonal skills, manage behavior, reduce stress and the impacts of trauma, increase self-esteem and self-awareness, and achieve insight.

Talk therapy isn’t for everyone. Creative therapies can provide alternative ways to express our inner world and explore new perspectives and concepts to help support the journey of living our lives. Whilst traditional talk therapy may be less effective in some circumstances, creativity and play can take us beyond words, and help us to discover and unlock different parts of ourselves as we explore. Creative exploration can help us express ideas and symbolism as we provide space to extend opportunities for growth and a renewed personal journey.
